so Scotland! my English friend, Amy, went with me which was funny since, well, she's English lol. we flew into Edinburgh and found our hostel easily enough. it was a really awesome place, Budget Backpackers, and i highly recommend it. it was really huge but didn't look like it and was like a maze with insanely bright colored walls. really fun experience :'D

▶ first day! wandered around Edinburgh. went to the free art museum and they had a Da Vinci!!! we were like "oh famous dude who was Da Vinci's rival.... HOLY CRAP A DA VINCI *ran to it*" saw the queen's castle and parliament and explored the city and all it's shops and cafes. pretty chill day but it sort of rained so we just relaxed. went to the main castle and it was pretty cool and on top of a giant cliff/hill
▶ second day! we took the train to a small town outside Edinburgh to the aquarium. it was just like the San Fran one so it had a massive underwater tunnel and basically nothing else lol. then we went to the Edinburgh zoo which again, looked small but ended up being really big! the male lion was sulking and you could hear his whiny roars from any corner of the zoo lmao. & THEY HAD WOLVES. I HAVE NEVER SEEN WOLVES IRL *D*
▶ third day! we wanted to go to Loch Ness but the train ticket alone was 45 lbs so we were like "screw that, let's go to Glasgow." & honestly there's nothing in Glasgow haha. it felt like a big city in the states. so we wandered, went to some museums, and just chillaxed.
▶ fourth day! went on a countryside + Rosslyn chapel tour! only 30 lbs too heh. we went to an abbey in a tiny adorable town and saw where the Braveheart is buried! it was pretty neat lmao and sort of a weird story.... went to a viewpoint and saw a funny statue. the rolling hills made me feel like i was back home which was nice. didn't see the breathtaking hillsides that Scotland is famous for but it was nice in comparison to flat as a pacake Danmark lol;;
then Rosslyn chapel and it's insane conspiracies! it was such a breathtaking chapel but couldn't take pics ;_; for those who don't know, Rosslyn chapel is the place they go to in the end of the Da Vinci Code LOL. but besides the obvious Templar knights stories, the other conspiracies are pretty insane. like how corn is carved into the ceiling even though the chapel was made before they discovered America!!! :O (& it was built by a Sinclair & Amy's last name is Sinclair so i was making fun of her a lot)
▶ fifth day! wandered around Edinburgh again haha. went shopping for tartan aka plaid. bought some scarves for my family, some celtic jewelry, argyle socks, and a pretty flower dress. we also went on the Real Mary King's Close tour, which is of the underground city in Edinburgh! it was really insane and incredible. it was half ghost tour too haha and a bit cheesy but fun and super interesting
we ended up eating all ethnic food every night lmao. Chinese & Japanese & Mexican food b/c Danmark lacks ethnic food. they weren't the best i've had but in comparison to here, it was heaven ;D; had fish & chips too but they were pretty crappy. then again i've always lived in coastal towns so fish & chips is pretty standard...

our bunk beds! i had top bunk heh & that's Amy, quite upset that i'm taking a picture of her 8)

queen's castle in Edinburgh. we didn't actually go in it but it was nice to look at

the ice was so solid, i could have stood on it no problem.

idek what language that is but it was so cool looking

the prettiest wedding dress in the world *D*

outside the aquarium at the seal pen but i loved the bridge and the rock cliff

cops on horses!! Amy was deeply amused by my shock but wtf i've never actually seen cops on horses in a city!

the art gallery that had the Da Vinci. had a lot of other great stuff too. just amused by the random Roman-esque building, so random

pretty buildings~

view from the castle hill!

why can't people ever take good pics for me? i always take great shots of tourists :<

Edinburgh castle!

one of the many churches.... cathedral? i forget.... Amy had to lecture me on the differences but i just stared at her B|

another church/cathedral/whatever

epic.... thing?! idk what it was but it was massive

only worthwhile thing in Glasgow LMFAO. in front of the modern art museum which was extremely boring and disappointing being used to San Fran's MOMA.

the long curved street we walked up and down every day to and from our hostel~

amazing view from where we stopped on the tour. i can't remember the name of it which is actually pretty important but yeah, pretty.

gotta have pics of myself or else i forget i went there lol

this statue............................ yeah. i also forget who he is/was but he was really famous;;

on top of the abbey which was a bitch to get to. horrendously tall staircase that was wet and narrow and spiraly. and then it was super windy but awesome none the less

BRAVEHEART. i'm not kidding. it's where THE Brave heart is buried. google the story, it's.... fun

the abbey! i didn't know what the difference between an abbey and other religious places were and got a lecture from Amy lmao;; but it was really pretty and serene and we had lunch on a tomb! :D

random street pic~

Edinburgh has such pretty streets!

me in my new dress & tartan scarf! i adore the dress so hard aaaahhhhh pretty colors and design ;_;
all in all, really enjoyed Edinburgh. we didn't do much anything epic but we mainly traveled to get away from Aarhus before we lost our minds and school started again. it was way warmer in Scotland too, i wore a t-shirt one night! we we got back to freezing ass Denmark, i turned to Amy & said "fuck this, let's go back to Scotland." also! the English lmao, was so nice. even if Scottish is insane and hard to understand a lot of the time. it was nice being able to make small talk ;_;
